What Is Economy Access?
Economy Access postage is the standard mail option on Docmail.
It is an alternative to the 2nd class equivalent (Down Stream Access mail service), with the main differences between the two being the postal delivery window, and overall cost per letter.
With economy access delivery, the delivery occurs when the address has other post, so mailings often arrive with in two days, but delivery can take up to 5 days.
The table below indicates the normal delivery day for standard economy access and 2nd class equivalent delivery:
Day order placed (before 5pm) | Standard Economy | 2nd class equivalent |
Monday | Thursday to Monday | Thursday |
Tuesday | Friday to Tuesday | Friday |
Wednesday | Saturday to Wednesday | Saturday |
Thursday | Monday to Thursday | Monday |
Friday | Wednesday to Saturday | Wednesday |
Saturday | Thursday to Monday | Thursday |
Sunday | Thursday to Monday | Thursday |
2nd class equivalent (DSA) mailings will incur an additional 4p on each letter when compared to standard economy delivery.
How do I select DSA postage for my mailings?
The Economy Access option is defaulted as standard on your Docmail account. To enable 2nd class equivalent postage as your mailing option, this can be done at account level by signing into your Docmail account, entering admin, and selecting account details. At the bottom of the screen you will see the “Economy delivery service” section. This will either show as economy delivery service in use or not in use.
